A Birmingham nonprofit founder has been selected for a national initiative.

STREAM Innovations founder Dr. Adrienne Starks was recently announced as one of 125 ambassadors to advance women in STEM fields in collaboration with the IF/THEN initiative and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

“We firmly believe that if we support a woman in STEM, then she can change the world,” said Lyda Hill of Lyda Hill Philanthropies, which oversees the initiative. “This requires changing the narratives about women STEM professionals and improving their visibility.”
